What this data measures

A scatterplot comparing the change in retail electricity prices to the change in each state's generation source mix over a selected time period. This explores whether states that shifted toward particular fuel sources experienced different price trajectories.

How this data is constructed

Electricity price data come from EIA Form EIA-861; generation source mix data come from the EIA State Electricity Profiles (Form EIA-923). Percentage changes in both variables are computed between the selected start and end years.
