Annual dry natural gas production by state, in billion cubic feet (Bcf). Dry natural gas is processed gas from which liquids and impurities have been removed, ready for pipeline delivery. This is the measure most comparable to gas sold to consumers.
Dry natural gas production data are sourced from the EIA's Natural Gas Supply and Disposition dataset. Dry gas is derived from gross withdrawals by subtracting gas used for repressuring, vented and flared gas, non-hydrocarbon gases removed, and natural gas liquids removed at gas processing plants.
