Grid reliability statistics — SAIDI and SAIFI — for the United States as a whole, grouped by utility type (e.g. investor-owned, cooperative, municipal) rather than by state. Each line is a customer-weighted average across all US utilities of that type, allowing reliability to be compared between different kinds of utility.
Reliability data are reported directly by electric utilities through the EIA Form EIA-861 Reliability Supplement. Each utility reports its own SAIDI and SAIFI, computed from outage event records across its service territory. Data have been collected since 2013.
